Project Overview
GWR (Great Western Rail) partnered with TPS360 to install specialist resin flooring at St. Phillips Marsh Depot in Bristol. Covering a total of 885m², the project was split into three phases of 295m² each. The goal? To create a tough, slip-resistant, and clearly marked epoxy resin floor that could handle heavy footfall and machinery, ensuring a safe and durable working environment.
Challenges
Working in a live depot meant ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations. Careful planning was essential to coordinate phased access while maintaining safety. Surface preparation was another challenge, requiring strict dust control measures, including Trolex silica monitoring and vacuum-assisted grinding.
With a tight timeline, each phase had to be completed on schedule without compromising quality. Close collaboration between TPS360 and GWR kept everything on track, allowing for swift problem-solving and efficient project delivery.
Quality Management
Strict adherence to TPS360’s quality management protocols ensured compliance with FeRFA standards. Comprehensive inspection and sign-off processes were implemented at each stage, including:

“We knew this was going to be a challenging project because of the live depot environment, but the team really pulled together to make it work. It’s always great to see the final result and know we’ve delivered exactly what the client needed. Working closely with GWR throughout meant we could keep everything on track and achieve a top-quality finish”.
