This month, we’re celebrating 13 years since Gavin Ashcroft joined TPS360.
When Gavin Ashcroft joined TPS360 in 2012, he didn’t arrive with a grand career plan or an eye on job titles. He joined as an electrician, did his job properly, and got stuck in – just like thousands of people do across the construction industry every day.
What set Gavin apart wasn’t luck or shortcuts. It was curiosity, consistency and a willingness to step up.
As time went on, Gavin wanted to understand more than just his own trade. He paid attention to how projects were run, how decisions were made, and what it really took to deliver work well on site. When opportunities came up, he took them – and when they didn’t, he worked hard enough to create them.
As part of that journey, Gavin completed a FeRFA apprenticeship, building specialist knowledge in resin flooring systems. Combined with real, hands-on site experience, this helped him move into contract management and client-facing roles, where he became known for being practical, dependable and easy to work with – someone clients and teams trusted.
Looking back, Gavin puts it simply:
“I didn’t come in thinking about where I’d end up. I just focused on learning the job properly, putting the effort in and doing things the right way. If you want something, you’ve got to make it happen – and TPS360 gave me the chance to do that.”
Over the years, Gavin’s role has continued to grow alongside the business. While he played a key part in building TPS360’s presence in the food and beverage sector, his work now spans some of the most complex and demanding environments in the UK.
That includes massive, industrial-scale manufacturing facilities for EV battery cells used in electric vehicles, alongside data centres, secure facilities for the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Defence, rail projects for Great Western Railway and Transport for Wales, and major developments delivered with contractors such as Glencar Construction, Bouygues UK, BAM Construction, Willmott Dixon and Kier.
More recently, Gavin has been closely involved in high-profile projects including the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, Nestlé CPUK manufacturing sites, hospitals, and facilities for the fire and ambulance services – places where getting it right really matters.
Today, Gavin is a major shareholder and Director at TPS360, overseeing operations across the UK. He works closely with teams to make sure projects are set up properly, people are supported, and standards stay high – whether the job is around the corner or the other end of the country.
Having come up through the business himself, Gavin understands what it’s like on site. He knows the pressures, the graft, and the pride that comes with doing a job well – and that perspective shapes how TPS360 continues to grow.
Gavin’s story is proof that at TPS360, progression isn’t about where you start. It’s about what you’re willing to put in. With hard work, commitment and the right attitude, there are real opportunities to build a career – and even a future – here.
Here is a selection of projects that we have completed in a number of different industry sectors. They demonstrate the expertise and professionalism that we bring to find a solution to each challenge.
