Project Overview
The Meadows, a large warehouse in Wolverhampton, underwent a comprehensive concrete floor restoration project by TPS360. The warehouse was being prepared for new tenants, and the floors required significant rejuvenation to restore their appearance and functionality. The objective was to transform the aged, soiled concrete surface into a high-quality, aesthetically pleasing, and durable floor, ready for immediate use by the new occupants.
Scope of Works
TPS360 utilised their Revitafloor360 system to restore 9,835m2 of concrete flooring. The process involved the removal of surface contamination such as tyre marks, line markings, and other residues, followed by densification and polishing. The Revitafloor360 system was selected for its efficiency in handling large-scale restoration projects while offering a choice between high gloss or matt finishes. This ensured that the floor would not only be aesthetically pleasing but also durable, with minimal ongoing maintenance.
Challenges
The primary challenge was ensuring that the concrete slab, previously subjected to heavy usage, could be restored without compromising its structural integrity. The presence of extensive surface soiling and demarcation lines required precision in grinding to avoid damaging the underlying substrate. Additionally, the project required close coordination with site management to manage power supplies, waste disposal, and water supply within a busy warehouse environment.
Quality Management
TPS360 implemented a rigorous quality control process throughout the project. After each stage of grinding and polishing, inspections were conducted to ensure that the floor was free of contaminants before moving to the next phase. The final result was a clean, even surface with a durable finish, meeting both aesthetic and performance requirements for the new tenant.
