The client is considered one of the leading training providers for the automotive industry in South Wales and their ATA Centre has some of the best facilities anywhere in the country, including a body shop, prep room, spray booth and engineering workshops.
As part of a wider refurbishment project at the campus, TPS360 were instructed to provide a high build Epoxy coating to the motor vehicle workshop.
HTC 950 planetary diamond grinders with dust extraction were used to remove existing finishes, oil and swarf contaminants, and to identify any repairs needed.
Using handheld diamond grinders, the edges were prepared along the walls and around any fixed plant and equipment. In very restricted spaces detergents were used to wipe clean and then rinsed with clean water.
Roller applied EpoSeal primer was applied to suppress residual construction moisture and rising dampness in the substrate and can also be used in situations where the relative humidity level is above 75%.
2 coats of both red and grey solvent free, high build epoxy resin floor coating EpoCoat HB were applied, slip resistant media was added to all coats.
For yellow line markings, high build chemically resistant Pumatect ‘V’ was selected. Pumatect ‘V’ exhibits high levels of abrasion and chemical resistance providing a tough and hard-wearing coating.
